The Calm

Used today for various things around the shop.  A large project just left and a HUGE one is possibly around the corner,  so this time is spent cleaning.   The shop is quiet,  clean benches are everywhere, waiting...

Sure I'll do it.

Used it countless times in finishing up my mother-in-laws bathroom.   I did a lot of contracting in the past and I enjoyed it.  It is not something that can be easily done sporadically.  Three weekends later and countless aggravations(not all of them my mother-in-law) its done.   Maybe now I've learned not to always say, "sure I'll do it."

Eggs for trade.

I opened a bag of wood shavings for our chickens.   We have about 16 hens or so and they are just starting to lay.   For now it is still exciting to find 4 or 5 eggs in the nest boxes,  but in a few weeks we will be getting a dozen or so a day.   This means we can barter,  the best form of commerce!

Makes me want to drink

I used the pliers this morning to remove my tungsten rod from my TIG gun for sharpening.  I was welding up a support frame for the latest and greatest Pepsi drink dispenser.  Ooh,  It's fancy.

Spring is coming..

for a day or two anyway.  A couple warm days and sunlight and New Yorkers get crazy.  February is time to tap the maples and that's what it was used for today.   I used the side of it to pound in a few spiles with sap running like crazy.   We collected about 75 gallons of sap last year and are shooting for 150 this year.   Pancakes?

Shouldn't you wash that?

The knife was used today to cut up an orange for personal consumption.  Now this is one of those things...

Man Vs. Machine

Today I used the pliers to insert yet another fuse into a new drive board on the 3 ton CNC machine I decided "wouldn't be to hard" to rebuild. :)  Turns out getting a computer to move a large hunk of metal  to .001" accuracy IS a bit difficult.   Another day, a few more fuses and we should be in business.

My first ever blog post

Yesterday I used the scissors to cut the hospital bracelet off my 3 year old son.  Our Family of five came down with the flu and it hit Oscar the hardest.   All but our oldest daughter has recovered.   Laying in bed and watching TV at the hospital I came across a documentary on the Dugger family.  17 kids and counting!!  Seems like a great family,  but what do they do during flu season...  yikes!!!
Today I used the screw driver and the pliers to open and play around with my new-to-me LCD projector for watching movies.   We don't watch any TV (unless we're in the Hospital) but we do watch movies,   so why not on a 100+ inch screen.
